  • Social Security Card after I-485 approved without I-765 approval

    I had applied for my mother's GC concurrent filing (I-485, I-130, I-765 and I-131) on May 11th 2021

As of today (Oct 7th) the online status for I-485 and I-130 says "Case was approved". Looking at the other posts, it seems we receive the GC in 2-3 weeks from online status "case was approved"

I know its too early but has anybody in the same state where 485 is approved before I-765 and I-131. I had applied for SSN in the 765 application. Hypothetically if we receive the GC, I don't think they will send EAD/AP. What happens to SSN card?

SSN was never part of I-485 application. Do we need to file SSN separately now?

Yes. Call the Office that attends your area and schedule an appointment since they are still not accepting walk-ins.

I have seen many reports that the GC only takes 7-10 days after status 'case approved'. Good luck.
In our case it took 7 days.
Nov 2018 - Package sent - EB - Texas Service Center
Day 1 - Package received at the lockbox
Day 999 - Card delivered to me - Aug 2021

I have the same thing, but my green card is based upon marriage. The guy in the office told me during the interview that I got approved for my EAD but that was only a week before the interview. So they didn't send the EAD. However, I also applied for my SSN with my 765.

Do you have any updates on what you did?
I'm located in Tampa and the next available time for an appointment is in a month.
And I really do NOT want to wait another month to work.
I have a job offer right now but they want my SSN.
