  • Has anybody's application is being transfered to local?

I started my GC procss in late 1998 based on EB2, and i had my finger print done in march, 2001. I was expecting to get my GC stamp recenlty. But, unfortunately, i got an aciton notice from the INS office (Vermont center) saying that my application is transfered to local (Nework, NJ) last week. My question is that how long usually I need to wait till i get my interview? and what document i need to prepare for that? I was trying to call teh number on the action notice paper, but the number is not in service, anybody knows the INS number in Nework, NJ? what should I be aware of when i go for the interview? anybody has any experience in Nework, NJ?

    Thanks for any input.

    Linda

      hi,

      what do you mean

"RFE replied 04/25 180 day rule job changer. Changed after 430 days in I-485 "?

Do you mean that you changed your job after you field your I-485? is this going to be a problem when you go for a interview?

        transfer to local office

I met our attorney last week with my friend
who is also in the same boat , but with TSC .

His case is also transferred to Memphis local office to use resources over ther as TSC is filled with truck loads of applications.

As per the Arrorney , once it reaches local office "for Processing", then it should take 30- 60 days, to get approval.

not only 30 to 60 days. It depends on your local INS Office, some take 950 days (for example dallas office). I actually went to the dallas office and spoken with the IIO. I event asked help from the congressman in my region, it failed. They send me a mail with very ruld words.

          Good luck to you!

Did the notice say any reason for transferring to Local
            office?

            Thanks

The notice said "in order to speed process your case, we have transfered your case to Dallas District Office". I was so excided at the moment. I waited 4 months and nothing happened, so I asked for help from a congressman. He wrote a request of status to Dallas INS Office. Another month later, I received a letter from the congressman's office, inside the letter there was a short memo from the Dallas INS Office.
              The memo said:
your notice from TSC said "in order to speed process your case", they lied. It will take us 9xx days to process your case.

It was a terrible experience. I hope your case will be better than mine.
