SSN new card issue. I-485 approved before I-765.

I recently got my and my family's I-485 approved. USCIS directly approved our I-485 and even before I-765. Therefore, we did not receive SSN for my dependent based on I-765 approval.

I am now trying to call SSN office for applying new SSN card for my dependent. However, even after 1 hour of wait, no one picks up the SSN office phone number. The offices are closed due to covid.

I was wondering if any one had gone trough this process recently and could share their experience? Thanks.

From what I understand, the I-765 will not be approved, so the information will not be sent to the SS office, and the only way to get an SSN is to call to make appointment or, depending on the office, mail the original documents for processing.
