This morning I received a call from a no caller id. I picked up the call, the gentleman on the line said he would like to speak with "XXX XXX" (said my name). He said he was calling from immigration services and wanted to let me know that my 9am appointment for tomorrow is cancelled. I told him that I cancelled my vacation to take this interview, I do not want a cancellation and if possible I would like to make it to the interview tomorrow. He said my documents did not arrive at the field office, therefore they would not be able to conduct an interview even if I go to my interview tomorrow. He said they will reschedule my interview sometime in February and I should receive a written notice in a next week or so.
Is this usual for USCIS field office to call from unknow number to inform about interview cancellation. There is no update on USCIS system yet. I called the 1-800 number and they could not verify any cancellation. Has anyone received such cancellation call a day before their interview? I don't want my case regarded as no show if that was not an official call.
