  • DECEMBER 2021 and JANUARY2022 AOS Filers check in and report!!!

Welcome one Welcome all. I am starting this for my fellow dec/jan filers so we can keep in touch and inform others. I have read countless other reviews and its only right I add mine to the collective.
Here is my timeline for my family based AOS so far.

form i-130 sent dec.13,2021 phx lockbox
    form i-130 recieved dec.14,2021
    formi-130 reciept mailed out dec.17,2021

forms i-485,i-765,i-131,1-864 sent jan. 6, 2022 (chicago lockbox)
    delivery confirmation jan. 8 2022
ucsis text message confirmation and reciept numbers jan. 10 2022
pending credit card payment for transactions on my bank jan.11,2022

I have not seen a review that showed such a fast turn around when the i-485 was mailed recieved and charged. I am kind of shocked, but I believe maybe sending the i-130 a month ago might have been able to speed up the processing of the rest of the applications as a file was already created. Anyway the journey begins, here is hoping the combo card (employment/travel) comes out faster than last years filers too :-)

JULY 2022 had to refile my I-485, the sponsor information was filled wrongly after an rfe request around april 2022. It was just easier to re file than appeal and be on hold

Aug 2023. Boom case updated and closed ...APPROVED WITHOUT AN INTERVIEW .... GOD BLESS 'Merica!! I wish everyone luck this is a great feeling of relief. I am gratefull

            Hello everyone!
Here are the details of my case.

I'm married to an US Citizen so my case is marriage based AoS. I got married last year.
I came to the US a few years ago with a B2 Visa but I had stay here because I have no family in my country of origin.
They are all US Citizens except me.

My package included the following forms along with the required documentation:

            I-130
            I-130A
            I-485
            I-765
            I-693
I-864 from the Petitioner (my wife)
I-864 from the Joint Sponsor (my dad)
G-1450 for the $535 fee for the I-130
G-1450 for the $1,225 fee for the I-485
Sadly I completely forgot to include a G-1145 to get texts and e-mail notifications.

            Here's my timeline:

January 20, 2022 - I mailed the package via USPS Priority Mail to the Chicago Lockbox.
January 22, 2022 - The package was delivered.
            January 26, 2022 - Credit card charged for $535 and $1,225.

Edit: My card was charged on January 26 by "Chicago Lockbox" so I think I'm clear. You can ignore the rest of this post.

The credit card I used still have not been charged.
I'm really scared about this because after the package was delivered, I read on reddit that several people got their package returned because the bank declined the transactions for suspicious activity. I used a credit card from Bank of America. I called the bank yesterday in advance to let them know that the USCIS will be doing two charges simultaneously for $535 and $1,225. I hope that works and they don't decline the transaction because I also included the I-693 which are the results of the Medical Exam in a sealed envelope as they required. But I read that they open everything when they receive it and if the credit card transaction gets declined, they just return everything, including the Medical Exam envelope but opened. If they do that, I would have to pay again for the Medical Exam, which was really expensive in my area ($750). I'm really scared about this guys.
If I had known that paying with a credit card was so risky, I would've paid with a check or a money order.

I'm really worried because they received my package on January 22 and the credit card I used has not been charged for the fees yet.

I believe you will be ok,(payment wise) my application was charged literally the next day but i have seen people get charged a month later. However I believe it isn't advisable to send the i-693 with your initial application, the website says it is optional. Now if you are confident your city gets uscis interviews in less than a year you will be ok.. If something happens and you don't get an interview in a year, you will still have to do another one(i-693) regardless if they opened it or not.

on january 21 I got a letter with this in the statement.

This notice informs you that USCIS is able to reuse your previously captured fingerprints and other biometrics. USCIS will run the same security checks and use your biometric data as in the past; however, it is not necessary for you to appear at a USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) for a biometrics appointment. The biometrics fee will not be refunded.

I guess they finally figuired out it was pointless to always ask for people to do biometrics every single occasion. I did a bunch 5 or so years ago, good to know they can put it in good use, after charging me though lmao

Sadly I messed up by paying with credit card instead of just paying with a check. I also messed up by sending the I-693 with the first package because of the risk of the credit card transaction getting declined and they refusing the whole package.

Regarding what you said about the I-693, they're no longer requiring a new I-693 if you filed the I-485 on or after December 9th 2021 and on or before September 30th 2022. This is the notice shown here: https://www.uscis.gov/i-693

Effective December 9, 2021, USCIS is temporarily waiving the requirement that the civil surgeon sign the Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record (Form I-693) no more than 60 days before the date the applicant files an Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status (Form I-485). It is still in the best interest of applicants to undergo the immigration medical examination close to the time of filing the Form I-485, as the Form I-693 only retains its evidentiary value for 2 years from the date of the civil surgeon’s signature. After the 2-year timeframe, the applicant would need to submit a new Form I-693 if USCIS has not adjudicated the Form I-485. This temporary waiver is effective until September 30, 2022.

Just an update for my case. My credit card was just charged!
I just received a text from the bank saying that $535 and $1,225 has been charged by "Chicago Lockbox".
Thankfully Bank of America didn't decline the charges because they were processed at the same time: 8:38 PM EST

Yep, submitted 4 Feb 21 at LIN and approved in the last day of the year 30 Sep 21. I was out of the country in oct/Nov so took a bit of time to file.
