  • Re-submitting AOS application (485, 864, 131, 765, 693) due to Payment Failure

    Hi,
I hope there is already a post of this very specific topic but I couldn't seem to find it.

My AOS application package has been returned along with a green letter explaining the reason rejection and I-797C.

I used G-1450 to make the payment and my Credit Card company didn't honor the transaction thinking it was Fraud. So the payment didn't go thru and my entire AOS package has been returned with the 693 form opened, and a USCIS stamp on the bottom of every page, passport pictures etc... All the forms and supporting documents have been stapled by USCIS.

    My question is:
    1. Should I re-submit the same application package with the correct payment form (Will send a personal check) and the green letter, or
    2. Should I re-print all the forms and supporting documents and send it with the correct payment form (Will send a personal check) and the green letter.

I have attached the green letter for reference.

    Sincere Thanks.

I have read that some people send everything new, others, send everything as is but some try to send a sealed I693 asking the doctor for a new copy (after explaining the situation sometimes that is free or at least a reduced price).

The problem is that I haven't read the resolution for each case. I don't know if all got a good resolution.

What I would do is either, send everything new or send the stamped forms but with a new sealed I693. In both cases, attach the green letter to the package.

I hope someone with real experience can help you. Good luck.

        Hello.
I feel so sorry about what happened to you.
I hope you can solve it and your package gets accepted soon.
Try to explain the situation to the Civil Surgeon that gave you the sealed envelope. Maybe they will give you another one for free or at a reduced cost.

Would you mind responding a few questions?

When and where did you send your package? Chicago Lockbox?
        When was the package delivered?
What is the issuing bank of your credit card?
Did you get a notification from the bank saying that they didn't honor the transaction from the USCIS? If you did, when did you receive that notification from the bank?

          Thanks for your message.

I have already approached the civil surgeon and they are giving me a new sealed envelop for $40 per application. I am going to re-send the whole package that I received back from USCIS along with the new payment (using Personal Checks this time) + the Green sheet they sent + the new sealed medical reports.

          Answers to your questions:
          1. Chicago Lockbox
          2. Jan 4th 2022
          3. Discover Credit Card
          4. I got a fraud alert from Discover on Jan 19th 2022 saying that they declined the transactions. I called and verified that it's non-fraudulent. But unfortunately, the transactions need to be re-submitted which was not done by USCIS.

I think if you are using credit card, go with Citi, one of my friend's application was accepted and no issues. Or, simply use Personal Checks.

          Hope this helps.

I'm glad your civil surgeon gave you a new sealed envelope for a lower fee. I hope if this happens to me, my civil surgeon does the same thing. Thank you very much for answering my questions. I really appreciate it.

I'm honestly very worried. I mailed my application package to Chicago Lockbox like you did. It was delivered on January 22nd. Sadly I'm paying with a Bank of America Visa credit card. I called the bank in advance and told them that the USCIS would charge $535 and $1,225 very soon and I didn't want them to decline it for fraud. They said they supposedly gave me a "pre-authorization" for $1,800 dollars but I honestly don't know if that will work or not. I've read some people called their banks to alert them about it but they still declined the charge. Paying with a credit card was a very dumb idea. I should've just used a cashier's check, a money order or even a personal check.

Just an update for my case. My credit card was just charged!
I just received a text from the bank saying that $535 and $1,225 has been charged by "Chicago Lockbox".
Thankfully Bank of America didn't decline the charges because they were processed at the same time: 8:38 PM EST

Edit: I kept trying to chat with different USCIS chat representatives and after talking to 7 different representatives, I was finally able to get the receipt numbers for the I-130, I-485 and I-765. They start with IOE, in case someone is interested.

Good your application was accepted and the relevant transactions were accepted. I too wish I used cashier's check or personal check.
Any ways, I submitted my application last week and waiting for my personal checks to be cashed and receive the Receipt numbers.

BTW, how were you able to chat with USCIS agent.?
