Hi everyone,
I know this question would have been asked in this forum in the past but I am creating this post as I was not able to search and find another relevant post which answers this question. My question is simple - My wife's sister is a US citizen and is applying for GC for my mother-in-law in Family based category. My mother in law was born before 1970, doesn't have a birth certificate. As per this link - India (state.gov) - USCIS understands that "For persons born prior to April 1, 1970, birth certificates are considered unavailable". My question is, in this case, are we required to provide any other proof in lieu of the birth certificate or can documentation relating to Birth certificate be completely skipped while submitting the 485 application.
Your help would be much appreciated..!
P.S: If you happen to know another thread within this forum which addresses this question, please share the link.
