EB2 to EB3 downgrade in Oct 2020

Hi,
I downgraded from EB2 to EB3 in Oct 2020 when dates for EB3 jumped ahead. My EAD is approved, but I-485 is still pending.

My priority date is now current in both EB2 and EB3.

Recently I saw this post from USCIS.

Does this mean if I upgrade to EB2, I'll have a better chance of getting my I-485 approved?

If so what's the process to upgrade, need to interfile?

Probably yes, talk to your lawyer.

My lawyer is saying that there is no need to interfile since you are current in EB3 but USCIS seems to say they have lot of EB2 visas.

I'm not sure if USCIS processes application by priority date or which ever application is received first.
