  • Received RFE for form 693 after 2 years. Are they close to a decision on my case?

    Hi everyone!
I received last weeek a letter from USCIS with a request for evidence, the form 693, medical condition. It was said that just expired and they need it as to make a decision on my case.
Does that automatically come after 2 years being sent, or they really started to work on my case.
    Green card through marriage
    Applied February 2020
    Interview November 2020
Request for evidence january 2021, bills, explanation of a situation and a copy of a court decision.
    Applied in Cleveland OH
it's more than 2 years since I applied and can't wait for the decision
    thank you all

It might mean that they are going to wave the interview. What does the RFE say? to send it or to bring to interview? They usually open the file when they are close to give an interview date or wave the interview. Good news is if its 2 years you will get a 10 year green card

I also received last week a letter from USCIS with a request for the I-693 form that I should bring to the interview.

They don't automatically send RFE for I-693, someone is reviewing your case and they decided that the I-693 they have is expired and need a new one to make a decision.

You have said the interview was in 2020 and your case has been in review since then? If yes, did you submit the 693 then? If yes, then they have sent a RFE again now because it's more than 2 years since you shared it with them. Eitherways it looks like whatever checks they were doing in your case might have finished and they found that your 693 has expired when they picked it up for issuing the GC.
