Hey Folks -
USCIS does not always update Case Status online right?
For example, when I got an RFE for Medical on my AOS - the case status did not update to show I was sent an RFE - it still stays at the previous status which was many months old.
And in my case, my RFE was dated January, and due early April, but it was only postmarked late April, and so I obviously got it late. In my case, I was still able to use the Covid 60 day extension of deadlines.
And they don't seem to update the status upon receipt of the RFE response either.
However, this makes me wonder what are options in such situations?
Like what happens if someone is denied but the denial letter doesn't get to you at all, or gets to you after the appeal window expires?
Can anyone explain, or point to some good resources, on what happens and what to do in situations such as these where things go wrong?
I personally find that I can manage immigration stress better when I know what to do in various hypothetical situations..
