Status "Case Remains Pending" - what does it mean?

Hey folks - I filed EB3 i485 from India a while back, and sent my response to RFE for medical a few weeks back.
Today my case status changed to below.
Can anyone help me understand what this means? is this something that update quickly and I'm closer to getting my green card?
Or is this saying now my wait just got longer?

Looks like your priority date is not current. What is your priority date?

My Priority Date is July 2011 - so it is current in EB3 and EB2

They apparently have quota on a monthly basis I believe so it's possible that it might move next month? Not sure.

Oh interesting. That might then explain it then.
I did find these two links from some poring over google.
- this is an interesting case status explorer tool that allows graphing the progression of statuses. I do wonder what is / how reliable is the source of their data though.
* - here there is a medley of people across EB1,EB2,EB3, and dependents who got this status. A few of them say their applications were approved later.
So based on what you said, and on these, I'm trying to remain hopeful..

While the analysis that lawfully does is good, I'm not sure if it's accurate as it's only as good as the data it has and I believe it doesn't have enough data to do an accurate analysis but I might be wrong. Just my opinion. is a simple tool where people share their statuses and updates but at least the volume is higher there. Again the problem with is the unlike lawfully which fetches the statuses of the cases in their system from USCIS records,depends on the users updating the statuses which most people don't do diligently hence again, I believe the analysis is not accurate.

Lastly, many applicants who have interfiled have been reporting that their online case status shows that USCIS is “temporarily pausing work on your application because an immigrant visa number is not immediately available to you” even though USCIS has already issued a receipt notice for the I-485J submitted requesting that the underlying basis be transferred to EB-2. AILA has learned that this case status update only reflects the “last adjudicatory action” taken by an officer. The case status will not be updated to reflect that an interfile request has been received. The case status will not update again until the interfile request has actually been adjudicated.

In my case I have not interfiled for EB2, since my priority date of july 2011 is current in EB3 - EB3 is current till some Jan 2012, so that's some 6 months margin. So, so far, my workplace lawyers didn't think there is a need for interfiling EB2.

Did you case moved out of Case Remains pending status and when?
