  • Can a relative be the Authorized representstive

I am US Citizen, I applied my brother and finally he got his greencard this Aug. Once he got his greencard and in the US, his 19 years old son with a F-1 VISA filed I485. He just now received the notice to a interview next month.

My nephew speaks ok english but not great, at least better then his father (my brother). His case is simple, I feel bad to pay so much for a attorney with such a simply case. however, for a young 19 years old, I think it's better some one can go with him. what's the difinition of Authorized representative?

As the original perittioner, aunt, or better english speaker, can I go with him to the interview?

Yes you can go with him as an interpreter for your brother to help with his sons interview. You could ring and ask if that's ok as well. But I have read many on immigration sites where the family member can be an interpreter as well.
