11 month since I-130 approval & still no greencard

Hello,

We are a family-based adjustment of status for the green card.

Timeline

1. April 2020 we filed the i-485 & i-130
2. September 2020 we received the combo card
3. October 2021 we completed the interview
4. October 2021 we received an RFE to update the medical form from September 2021 to the new standards in October 2021 (we submitted this within 3 days)
5. October 2021 the i-130 was approved

It is now approaching 11 months since the i-130 approval and we still do not have an update on the i-485. We did not even receive an acknowledgment that the Medical RFE was received. Our field office is in the Bay Area. Our lawyer mentioned that there has been a handful of cases facing similar delays.

Has anyone been through this experience before? It is bizarre that the i-130 has been approved but the i-485 is in limbo.
