    DV Lottery winner question?
    Hi
I am a student in the US under a F1 visa.
I won the DV lottery and my number is really low and is current for this month.
I just received the letter from KCC telling me to send a fee of $440 to the USCIS. I sent the fee
to the USCIS the day that I received it the letter.. no delay.

    1. How long does it usually take for USCIS to send me back a receipt
    2. Should I contact them before I get my receipt back
    3. What forms do I fill out next and where can I get these forms.
    4. In terms of police record. What are they asking for? Is it a local county, city or state or FBI biometrics that they need? I have been in the US for 4 years. Been in the current city for 10 months

    Thank you everyone!

You need file I-485 form to adjust status. To file this form you need first wait for fee receipt from KCC (or USCIS) (I got mine in 2-3 weeks). Read I-485 instructions - they are pretty clear. I'd suggest to start from medical exam, it may take some time. Police record is needed only if you have criminal history. Biometrics will be scheduled after I-485 filed.

      Hi,

I also won the GC this year and I'm in the same situation. Does anyone know if the process changed for some reason? Do I still have to wait for the letter with the fee from USCIS?

Would be great to hear from someone about this!

      Thanks
