  • I-485 form - no visa in passport

I entered on J1 visa to USA. However, last year I changed my status from J1 for H1B. I have not traveled abroad so I did not update the visa in my passport. I am filling out I-485 form for a green card now. I do not know what to put in Part 3. Nonimigrat visa number because I do not have one in my passport. I also do not know what to put in: consulate where the visa was issued and data visa issued? When my H1B visa was approved I received form USCIS 797C form. I would appreciate for any help

    Thanks
    Ally

you need to write noimigration no, which is not passport for j1-visa. you do not needed visa in passport as you changed status from j1 to h1b.

In part 3. Nonimirant Visa number, you will get in you visa (j1)stamp page, and consulate and date of visa from the same page.

When you were approved for H1-B you should have gotten an approval notice with an I-94. Make sure to include a copy of that as it relates to your current status.
