Hi All,
My wife used to have a green card a few years ago but she voluntarily abandoned her status at a port of entry after we decided to move out of the USA. When we did it, the border was super nice and said we won't have any problems in the future especially since we were honest.
Fast-forward to today and we decided we're going to stay in the USA and live where I was raised. We believe it will be better for our family. My wife was also offered a really good employment opportunity. She still has her social security number that says, "Valid with DHHS authorization". If we go through the same adjustment of status process as last time, is there a faster way for her to get employment approval? Would it be faster since we've done the paperwork before? Or how long does it normally take to get approved for Employment Authorization?
