Applying I-485 for my mother
Hi -
I am a US Citizen and I had applied for my mother's I-130 for which I received an approval few days ago. My mom currently is in India but has a valid B1/B2 Visa which is valid till Nov 2023. My mother is planning to travel by end of Feb/ early March timeframe. I have few questions and would appreciate if someone can provide better clarity.
a) Can I apply for I-485 when my mother is still in India. Will that pose any issue for her travel on B1/B2 in end of Feb. If yes, then should I wait for her to come here to apply?
b) Given her B1/B2 expires in Nov 2023 and getting another B1/B2 appointment is almost out of question given the backlog. Once she comes here should I apply for I-824 when she is in US. Is that ok?
