  • I-485 approved! Important question on where the green card goes pphysically

    Hello,

My I-485 was approved with 1-360 being the basis of the approval through VAWA. I had hired a lawyer and we have a falling out and parted ways. She almost made me miss my interview but luckily the USCIS called the number on the forms and i got another interview and a week later i got notice of the approval. Even though i had done a change of address in the system for the lawyers, she still ended up getting my original of the approval notice! This was despite me having signed a form with the officer who did my interview that she would no longer be the counsel and record and no communication would go to her.

The question i have is will my green card come physically come to me or the lawyer which they don't want to take off the record? Please help if someone knows something....

    Thank you in advance.

It should come to you but USCIS sometimes still sends to the old address on record. It is a hit or a miss and can't tell.

Unless a new G28 is filedby another lawyer or you, USCIS will not honor a letter.

A GC is however sent to your physical address not the lawyers address. Unless you used the lawfirms address on your 485, you will get it by mail.
