Switch from Consular Processing to Adjustment of Status

My I-140 petition under EB2 NIW has been documentarily qualified and at NVC since October 2022.

I relocated to the US on an O1 work visa 4 months ago, and now intent to apply for Adjustment of Status instead as the Consulate appears to have a severe backlog for EB cases too (except EB3 which they are prioritizing).

Besides submitting my I-485, I-131, and I-765 to USCIS, is there anything else that I have to do to move my petition back from NVC to USCIS?

Should I contact NVC on their public inquiry form to inform them of my intention to switch to Adjustment of Status? Will this speed things up or confuse the situation when USCIS reaches out to NVC to pull my case back and risk potential loss of my petition?

Should I indicate this information of switching from Consular to AOS on my I-485 cover letter?
