  • I-485 form questions - Adjustment of status

    Hi all,
I am completing the I-485 form and I have some doubts about VERY simple things. I don't want to mess up with this, that is why I prefer to ask you every single thing, no matter I look like a fool.

First my situation: I live in the US since more than 6 years ago. I have a H1B visa since last year. I married an american citizen last June and decided to make our life easier by applying to the green card.

    1) Do I have to present my H1B Approval Notice (I-797A)?

    2) In Part 1, line 7 of i485 form it says: Date of last arrival. Here I have a discrepancy with my passport and I-94 form. I travel frequently to Canada for the day, and they rarely stamp my passport at the border. I mean, the last time that I entered the country WAS NOT the date stated in my I-94. Still, I assume that they still have records of every person who enters the country.
Question is: Should I put in the form the REAL last date that I entered US? or should I put what it say my I-94 form?

    3) I don't have records of any A#. Is that something hidden in my visa? what is that? should I just write N/A for non applicable?

Thank you guys. I know most of this is silly, but I don't want to make any mistakes and loose more than a thousand dollars.

    No, but it wouldn't hurt.

    2) In Part 1, line 7 of i485 form it says: Date of last arrival. Here I have a discrepancy with my passport and I-94 form. Put the real datre and include a seperate page explaining it as a land border crossing where they did not stamp your passport or issue an I-94. You'll be including a copy of the I-94 anyway.

    3) I don't have records of any A#. Is that something hidden in my visa? what is that? should I just write N/A for non applicable?

Leave it blank. They will assign you one or dig one up if you have one and don't know it. It will be easier for an officer to write it in.

Thank you guys. I know most of this is silly, but I don't want to make any mistakes and loose more than a thousand dollars.
