    here is my status now

    1. i entered US in a tourist visa in march 28th 2010 and got married here to a permanent resident after 1month of my arrival
    2. Filled 1-130 in may 21st 2010 and got the approval notice August 2010
    3. My tourist visa was about to expire on sep 28th 2010 so we applied for extension and they received it on 27th of sep 2010.
    4. My visa number became available on november so we applied for i-485 and got the received notice on nov 8th 2010(still we havn't got any reply for my extension of b2)
5.i finished my finger print also
    6. Now i got a letter from immigration asking for more supporting documents if iam not able to sent before dec 31st they are going to denny my extension.
my problem is i have only few documents among which they asked for. if they denny my extension, what will happen to i-485.
do i have chance of getting it approved.
    please help.

    thanks

well, first of all when you are applying for permanent residence (I-485) based on a marriage, it doesn't matter whether your visa is expired or not, because since the days immigration received your documents, your immigration status changed on a pending, which means that you are no longer depended on the visa, so don't worry about it. It's a simple logic, how can you be permanent resident and temporary visitor at the same time? It's impossible. They just wanna make sure that you entered US legally, that's all they are asking for.
