Passport validity renewal stamp on expired passport

Hi all,

I am a US citizen filling out AOS form for my parents.

My parents came into the us in 2008 with an expired front page on the visa but there was an extension stamp on one of the pages of the passport.

My question:
1) What date should I put in the I-485 form regarding passport expiration date.

2) Do I need to send a copy of the extension with the I-485 and does it need to be translated in English?

Thanks for you help. I am planning on sending the package in a couple of days.
