My mother traveled outside the United States while her I-485 application was pending, prompted by a family member's passing. Unfortunately, at that time, we were unaware of the necessity to apply for emergency parole. Based on research, it is advised against traveling outside the US during this period, and such travel may result in the application being considered abandoned. However, she has received an appointment for a medical examination and we are seeking clarification on the status of her application and whether she can safely reenter the United States.
