  • Time line after Interview

    Hi,
I applied for AOS based on the DV lottery, I did my interview on Monday and the officer told me I would receive a notification in my mail. However I need to leave the country for work on Jan 24th and I have a feeling I won't receive a decision before that date. I applied for Advance parole when I filed my I-485 on Nov 1st but the status is still initial review 2 1/2 month later.
My I-485 status online is still acceptance (first stage).

Is there anything I can do in order to speed up the process so I don't have to turn down my work trip?

    Thanks

I would suggest you ring USCIS and see what happening to your case. And as it is only 2 and 1/2 months mmm have you had biometrics done yet?

Yes, I did my Biometrics in beginning of Dec. I just checked the status online and it says my I-131 was approved on Jan 14th so I guess I should have it within a few days correct?

I really need to leave the country for work Monday 24th is there any chance that I can run in to trouble when I enter the country again if I only have my approved I-131 with me?

        What is your current status?
If you have valid visa I think it shouldn't be any issues entering US.
Hopefully you'll get your docs by the end of the week.

My current visa is valid for another 2 years but it doesn't belong to the category of visas were you're allowed to leave the country while your application is being processed.

Never heard about this. Do you have by the chance any references regarding this?
