My mother in law applied for adjustment of status thru I-485 and went couple of times for fingerprints in Hackensack NJ. However, they cannot get fingerprint due to poor hand condition. Now USCIS sent us letter and ask for Police Clearance Certificate from last 5 years of residence. We can get Indian PCC thru NYC embassy. However, there is no such thing as USA PCC. I went to local police station where they told me all they can provide me with good conduct certification that only includes record from town. Outside of town what happens it does not included. Fingerprint process too not included.
Police told me there is IdentoGO service where we can get fingerprint with personal record check. But it is also not called Police Clearance Certificate.
Called USCIS few time and they asked to hire attorney. I have not hired any attorney for immigration reasons and I have filed at least for 20 people. (why would we do it and not just got right directions from USCIS while paying hefty amount of fees!)
Did anyone has gone thru this scenario in past? If so, please suggest what to do.
