Hi everyone,
I'm on H1B visa. I submitted my I-140 application in NIW category through a lawyer. It has been more than 4 months (average processing time for TX center), but I didn't receive the decision yet. When I called I was told that it would take 40 more days from the day I called. That was 2 days ago.
I'm thinking of submitting I-485 along with Advance Parole Travel document, by myself. There's no priority date retrogression for my country.
My questions are;
1) Will it be safe to do this by myself? When I saw the forms, it seems like a waste of money to spend $ 1800 lawyer fee.
2) What are the disadvantages if any, of filing I-485 + AP, before receiving the decision for I-140?
3) In part 2 of I-131 form, what answer should I check for my situation? Is it answer (d) I am applying for an advance parole document to allow me to return to US after temporary foreign travel
What is the meaning of conditional resident? (As mentioned in answer (a) in part 2) ?
