  • biometrics appointment

USCIS sent me an appointment notice in mid Dec 2010 to go to my application support center for fingerprints on Jan 5, 2011. I could not make this appointment because I was going to be outside of the country at that time. So I sent a request for them to reschedule my bimoetrics appointment. I got back from overseas last week and I still haven't received a new date from them yet. Has anyone gone through a similar experience? How long does it generally take before they reschedule the biometrics appointment? Thanks.

Hello i have not been in the same situation but, you made a mistake rescheduling your appointment because now this is going to delay your case progress. what you should do is go and walk in to the Service Center that you was assign to and and show your appointment letter and that will be all instead of rescheduling i am telling you this because i receive my appointment letter the same day of the appointment i talk to my lawyer and she told just walk in and let them know that you want to have your Fingerprints and Photo.

Hope this will work for you and Good Luck with your case

      bimoetrics appointment

This is what i was worried about - that my case is now going toi be delayed indefinitely. I am going to go to the ASC and make the request and see what happens. Thanks for the reply!

I had the same thing happen to me. I rescheduled an appointment as I was away also and I never heard back from them. On 22nd Dec we decided to do a walk in at Atlanta took my letter with me they checked and could not even find my original appointment. So I was able to get my Bio done no problem and received my EAD and AP withing 2 weeks after and my AOS has been transferred to CSC. Just go to you ASC later in the day or mid week early morning before they get busy and you should have no worries. Some offices actually have certain days for walk ins.

Thanks for the advice. I went to the ASC this morning and got my biometrics taken, with no problems.
