Can one file for I-130 and EAD simultaneously ?

Would like to find out if one can start working in the US after he files I-130 through his spouse? Spouse is a permanent resident only.

Or should we wait till he files for I-485?
Is it possible to file for I-130 and EAD simultaneaously?
