  • Please I need someone to sincerely tell me

    Good day.
I have been so encouraged with this website and i am sure that i can get help from here.
I came into the USA with an F1 visa and just one week after i came in i meet a lady, we fell in love and it was so strong that we got married soonest.
We got married just seven weeks after i came in. We just filled in even though we do not have all the neccesary proof we need but we were very sincere with the filing and cos my wife is on gov income, we decided to file in 3 months after we got married so that i can start working and can help the family.
I have not been added to home bills cos she is on governmet assisted living but hoping to do that sometime after my EAD card.
We want to be true and intend to tell the truth during the interview.
I am however worried because i heard from someone that i was supposed to be in the USA for at least 3 months before getting married.
    Please is that true?
    Does it affect my application?
We filed in 25th January 2011.
I went for my biometrics in the first week in March 2011.
    Hoping to get my EAD.
Please does someone has an advise for us about the interview?
    Thank you

I just read this post and noticed you have another asking about AOS interview and evidence. As you entered on a F1 visa and got married you should have left the country and your wife applied for a CR1 visa (spousal visa) for you. I know many people come here on other visas and meet someone and get married but it is not always looked at favourably by USCIS.
The fact that you married 7 weeks after arrival will cause some suspicion so you will need lots of evidence for your interview sorry to say.
What country you are from will also have some impact on your interview.
You have to prove that you came here on F1 without the intent of immigrating.

Thank you for talking to me.
I am aware that it causes suspisions with USCIS. This is however a very legit and true marriage cos i got married on my wife's insistence on a particular date has always cost her sorrow and she wanted it to always bring joy to her.
I am Nigerian and i came here on an F1 visa for study purposes and have been in school for the first semester. I deffered my second semester cos i wanted to get to know my wife and the family so much and so i moved in with her to get so used to each other and plans to go back to school for fall to continue. I have my semester portfolio with me. that semester ended ended in dec 2010.
We have not been able to gather enough finacial evidence cos she lives on the government but we go to the movies and the zoos regularly and eat ot together too.
I submitted several picture with the kids and other members of the family and i have not been added to any bils yet cos we were waiting for my EAD so that i can get my social security number and get added.
      I am from west Africa.
Please tell me what to do?

If you had your Bio first week of March you should hear soon of approval. If you look on USCIS and out in your receipt number you can check your case and see where it is up to. EAD if card is in production or still processing.
