  • I-485 Processing. Please enlighten me.

I need some help here please.
I filled in my change of status forms precisely on the 20th of January and got my receipts on the 25th of january.
I have tried to fill in with little evidence but a true heart.
Because my wife is on government assitanceship, I have not been added to the house bills because we wanted to do all legally and wait for my EAD so that i can get my social security and get added to bills.
I went for my biometrics a while ago with the hope of getting my EAD soon.
I have not received my EAD but this morining got a letter from USCIS to come with my wife for an interview this time next month.
Please what other primary docs can we use?
Do we have to be so plain and tell them the truth about waiting for my EAD to add?
    please advise me.
    Thank you

Are you AOS from marriage? You could have got your SSN number 2-3 weeks after you arrived here and married. You will need joint accounts for your interview as you need to prove a bonafide marriage. Bank accounts joint utility bills.
Pictures of your wedding and dated . Like Daru said Affidavits from friends who were at your wedding and know you.
Depending on when you went for your Bio you should have EAD soon.

        Thank you so much Daru.
I have a kind of complex case. My wife lives totally on government financial assistance and housing scheme. I need my social security number to get added to the bills since its governmet assisted.
We however have marriage pics and pics with some family members and several with my step children. We just opened up a joint account even though it is not financially efficient. I came in on an F1 and finished my first sememter even though we were married. I still want to further my education for coming fall and really looking at transfering my credits to a new school here even though i am still oweing my school some money.
I am in this marriage because it gives me happiness.I do not really know what to do.should i get an attorney or something?
How can i proof to them that i have not been added to the bills cos my wife lives on a fixed rate of bill payments and i have to have a social security number before i can be added. I however am hoping to get my card before now and get added but even then the bills might not be out yet. I was thinking that my interview would be a month after i get my EAD but i do not even have my EAD card now and i have an interview date.
        Please advise me.

Dear Friend. You WILL exactly what you stated here to the immigration officer. As long as your marriage is bonafide, (the immigration officer will know) you shouldn't worry too much. Lawyers don't do much but have your forms filled by their assistants. I would advise only those who have complex cases. Does your wife have a credit card? If yes then ask her to add you as a secondary and not a joint on her account. Don't worry too much and concentrate on your future......
          God Bless!

                Thank you so much daru786.
I am really following your thread. I have not been able to add to my wifes credit card yet but i am sure that God is on the throne and in my own heart i know that we are in a bonifide marriage.
                Please this really bothers me?
I think i have not heard it answered. Please does it matters that i came into the states and in just six weeks, meet my wife and we got married, is it going to raise any suspicion or is it normal? cos some people say one is supposed to stay at least 3months.
To back that up, it was my wife that proposed wedding and that early just because she wanted to turn around a particular date from a sad day of the year to a happy day for marriage anniversary.
Even though i tried to go against it, She insisted and we married.
Please is the immigration officer going to be strict on that?
