  • Current USCIS STATUS

Hello again, everyone. I have a quick questions.

On the i-485 application it writes:

    Date of Last Arrival
    i-94#
    Current USCIS Status
    Expires on-

My Husband's i-94 does NOT have an expiration date as he has a F-1 visa. His visa however does have an expiration date. I have been looking through forums and everyone has suggested for posters to write the expiration date of the i-94 down.

What do we do in our case? For USCIS Status should we write F-1 and then write the expiration date from the visa? OR write down "D/S" for the expiration date, WHICH IS WHAT IS WRITTEN DOWN ON HIS i-94? And if writing F-1 sufficient for the USCIS status?

Thanks so much in advance for helping us!!!!

I would write expiration of F1 visa as well as the D/S on his I-94
His status is yes F1 and expires on _____
    Date of last arrival ------
I-94 ----- (is there a date on that at all?
    Current USCIS Status F1
    Expires On ------ date

USCIS status should be F1 - this is enough.
Expires on - you should write - "Duration of Status", don't write there your visa expiration date.

What if we are in the same situation but she has a 17 month STEM OPT extension with an expiration date before F1 expiration. I-94 shows F1, D/S

I also had similar situation but I was able to go past that by put F1 For USCIS Status and D/S for Visa expiration date. and Everything appears to be go fine with my case.
