Documents needed for filing 485

Folks,

Could someone please let me know what are the documents (like birth certificate) needed to file with 485. Also the steps involved till you get your EAD

I do have a copy of my birth certificate but not the original one.Will it pose any problem?

I appreciate any response in advance.

PS: I am on H-1B and my wife is also on H-1B and its EB-2 category.
