  • I-485 interview

    Greetings.
I really want to say thank you for all the people that have dedicated themselves and experience to this website. As am individual i have been blessed and i am hoping on God to come with my testimony soon. You guys are wonderful and God will reward you all.
I have a question and i am very nervous about it. I was watching YouTube and someone asked a question about petitioning. That if a petitioner is on food stamps and section 8, that there application will be turned down because the petitioner depends solely on the government. I am so so very nervous because my wife petitioned for me and my EAD has been approved and we have been given an interview date.
Please is her current status going to affect the immigration decision? Even though i we filed with an affidavits of support from a friend with required forms and W2.
Please i want to really know if my wife's condition is ever going to affect the decision and if there are things i can do.
Please help me out. I am confused.
    Thank you all in advance

Tony if you have your EAD do you have a job yet? You need to get out and get one ASAP. You have a co sponsor which is required by law but really at interview it is totally up to the Interview officer on the day. If they have fear you are going to be living off welfare then it does not look good. Just relax and tell the truth is all you can do. You are totally at the discretion of the officer on the day.

Don't worry bud! The more you read the more confused you will get. Concentrate on preparing for your interview and nothing else. USCIS is not stupid, they know how things are and what immigrants have to go through to make ends meet. HAVE FAITH.....
