  • Please give me clues (I-458 interview)

    Greetings.
I have posted a few threads on here and i have recieved tremendous replies.
My interview comes up in about a week from now amd i still need good advice.
My wife is on section 8 and foodstamps.she petitioned for me even though i used a co sponsor.she not working cos of disability and does not file taxes, she only gets her benifits from the government.can these condition jeopardise my chances of apprval with the immigration officer?
Secondly, because i did not have a social security number till just 3days ago, I have not been added to the home bills yet even though i give my wife part of the money for bills. Is it explanable to the immigration officer that i am not on the home bills because i just got my SSN and just added but not reflected yet as at the time of the interview?
Lastly apart form wedding pics, me adding her to my account, gym membership, family pics, letter from her children and a friend, vacation hotel bookings and trip tickets, movies and zoo tickets and mails that show i live there,we really do not have some other things except for the fact that we entered our marriage in good faith.Do we have bright chances?
    Please all advice are welcome.
    Thank you

tony, I do not have exact replies to your query. this said, do not fear anything. you know your situation best and know that your marriage is genuine. our interview is in 2 weeks and some things i come across online make my heart literally skip a beat (sometimes I do think people are hired to post scary stories online). do read the check-list uscis has sent you and take with you as many documents as possible..more the merrier! atleast that is what we intend to do (the process has given me enough headaches already). go through all the dates again (birthdays, wedding date, date u met, anniversary, kids b'days, parents b'days...etc..etc..). I really don't believe there is anything a genuine couple needs to practice as far as life questions go (except maybe favorite colors, movie, shoe size..lol).

also, do let me know how your interview goes (I'm sure things will be fine)..but do post your experience. I will try my best to stop panicking!

i also have an interview in few weeks and i have done alot of research and i try to read peoples postings, interviews and all sort and i realised its only you thats in the situation that can best determine your faith towards the interviewer.so just be honest tony.i have been married to my wife just 7months now and its all in good faith and we really dont have much because i filed 3months ago and everything came in few weeks before the interview so the only ihave to prov bonafide marriage is our wedding court pictures and our honey trip to bahamas and couple of other pictures here and there.the immigration officers literally know the law that without ssn you cant do anything.i have just marriage certifcate, photos, joint account, emails, phone records and travel tickets.

            Thank you.
I have the underlisted to take with me.
            1. A bank statement and bank letter that shows that my wife has been added on my account. This was because the banks would not open a new one for us until i have got my SSN

2.Photos from our wedding, christmas dinner with the kids, and my in-laws, of our vacation trip to chattanooga, and some few at home and the zoo.

3.Movie tickets, zoo tickets, bus tickets to our vacation, hotel tickets and our wedding ring reciept.

            4. Our YMCA membership card.(this is not that credible with me.)

            5. Marriage certificate.

            6. Letters that show i live in the house.

            7. letters from 2 of the kids and a friend that attended our marriage. Notarised.

            8. Cards we bought for each other before getting marriage, those we both after marriage and a few emails that have not been deleted.

            9. The mercies of God.

Please let me know if i am on the right tract at all.
            Thank you.

Please can you give me the link of how to get phone records between me and my wife free online?
I think it will make sense.
And kindly let me know how to extract it.
                Thank you

                  tony,
whoever your service provider is.. atnt, verizon, etc.. you should create an online profile account . your information should be available there. contact your service provider..they should be able to direct you as to how to create your profile. i extracted the files to excel and deleted the phone numbers that were not my husband's. i would have to print 20 pages or so per month if i left all numbers in there.

                      Greeting to all.
I just want to share my experience with all that have contributed to my post and all that might need this or be in my situation.I want to thank you all for your contributions.May the almighty God bless you all.
I went for my interview yesterday and though i did not get apporved of my green card yet, it was still good.
I want to tell everyone on this site, that once you can conquer your fears and have informations to the best of your knowledge about your wife and marriage, you are on track. You do not need to know everything, and always put God first.
I am going to be brief.

We got there with the lawyer at 7:45 and my interview was 8:00am.
checked in and sat.waited to be called.Firstly, contrary to what has been severally posted here and lloking at my case if you have followed it up, i was expecting a stroke interview whereas both of us will be seperated. But no! we werent.we were called in together at the same time.
She asked us questions from our biographic data form. Please kindly be familiar with the personal informations you provided. We answered randomly and the only part we had difficulty with was how soon we got married.because i came to the state and got married just 6 weeks after was really questionable, but because it was real and mutual, i stood my ground and told her people see and feel in love and i think telling her that our first kiss made us inseperable keyed in with her. She also argued the fact that i did not move in immediately after the marriage and i told her it was for school.
The final arguement was why it took us 5months after marriage to add each other to the bank accounts and i expalined to her that i did not have a SSN card. she further asked that since my SSN card came out just last week, how was i able to add her a month ago then, and i explained that the names where changed and that was the truth. We had to change the ownership of the account to my wife's because my wife was a citizen and i added to the account.I told her that we have been looking for a way to add for like 3 months nd it was until we went to another branch of my bank that we were told it was the olny option and we adhered to it.
It was just a month old account but it had activities on it.We used our card to buy thing from 5$ up so even though we had a balance of less than 200$ on it, it showed we opreated it,.
She later told me that my birth certificate was not accepted, that i should request a BIRTH RECORD from my country and in English and that on my sponsors W2, there was no signature on it.I think she had another minor issue with my sponsors W2 and told the lawyer that and that we should tell my sponsor to get an extracted copy from IRS and we should send it it.
She gave us a form stating that she will mail out an I-97 form to us today and she removed my I-94 Card.
I am not too happy but i i know God has done it.
I personal think that if i submit those two things,my petition will be granted cos it was not DENIED.
She also ask for a letter from our landlord.
My lawyer told me it was a miracle cos the immigration officer was always mean and that when she called us in, she was so afraid but she thinks the kind of psycological reaction between my wife and i during the interview helped.we joked about a couple of things and she even corrected me with a family name i mentioned.

I will advise that you stay calm and very positive. It is very possible and it is not as hard as it seems. With God all things are possible.

Lastly, I will be so glad if anyone who has been in this kind of situation or a similar one will just tell me what it means? what are my chances of getting my green card and any advise will be very appreciated.
                      Thank you and God bless

Tony you have had all the advice you need about this GC just get those documents to them and you should get GC . Your lawyer should have known the sponsors paperwork should have been signed and also knew that your birth certificate should have been in English. I personally think your lawyer was hoping you would fail and then would have to appeal which means more money for him. No one can say anymore to you just do what is asked and see what happens.

                          @BARBARAJLW
                          Thank you so much.
Yes, i she really did not give me a good chance of passing it, but i really think she has been of help. She was just not too confident of the case.
The birth certificate was not in my language. It was in english but it was hospital record and the lawyer apologized that she did not know it could be looked into. She said since it was still legal, and she had had clients who used it she never felt it was so important and she also accepted the blame for the sponsor.
Yes, she has always included us appealing to all she said.she had always told me before the interview that if the interview did not come out as planned, we would appeal but i knew that was not my portion.
I am very thankful to God.I just want to know if anyone knows how high my chances are as soon as i get those documents in.
Thank you all. May God Almighty, help us all in our endeavours towards making life better for us.

Tony, just send in whatever they have asked for..send more documents if need be..you know better. Keep praying . God puts challenges ahead of us all the time in some form or another. Let me know what happens. Btw, I have never seen a signature on any W2's I have received... why were you told to get an IRS transcript despite having a valid W2?

                              Thank you for your concern.
You have been there all time and may God continue to bless you.
The immigration officer said that my sponsors signature was supposed to be on the Tax forms as the person that filled it.
She told us that it is not that she doubt the credibility, but it needed to be signed by him somewhere on the form.
She also pointed out the fact that he said he had a dependant and the dependant information was blocked and so asked for a more clarifying tax document from him.She only suggested a transcript.
She mentioned something about we getting a letter from our landlord too but she did not state that as an included reason for not making a decision yet.
She gave us a form that has three sentences, the first been approval, the second, not yet approved and the third denied.
She ticked the second one and commented this "will issue i79 or 97 .
The lawyer told me it was just a official statement of what she needed. The immigration officer said she would issue it today, so i should get it tommorrow or thursday and i will let you know if it is just that.
I just pray it is just that.
                              Thank you
