I am working on H1 visa and changing my employer. So my new employer is currently in the process of filing my H1 transfer with Premium Processing.
My husband has an Adjustment of Status, working on EAD. His priority date has become current now with the new EB2 visa dates for May 2011 bulletin. So he can now file for I-485 Adjustment of Status for me too after May 1st 2011.
Since I am in the H1 transfer process, my attorney has advised to first get my H1 transfer approved, before filing my I-485 Adjustment of Status. I am okay with this, however I am not aware of the process of how I can get a GC if my husband's GC gets approved in the meantime.
Here are my questions:
1) How long does it take for him to get his GC approved and mailed to him after the visa date becomes current?
2) If his GC gets finalized(husband becomes a GC holder) even before I file for my I-485 Adjustment of Status, what are the steps and how long does it take for me to get GC.
