  • Post AOS Interview

My husband and I had our AOS interview last Tuesday in St. Louis, MO. The IO took my I-94 and EAD at the interview. I thought the interview generally went well. She didn't stamp my passport nor give me any paper after the interview. There hasn't been any touch since the interview. I would like to apply for jobs but she took my EAD. Do you know how long it generally takes to get GC or approval letter?

I appreciate your input. Thank you.

      Thank You

Thank you for your quick response. A quick question should there be online updates after the interview? If so, how long does that normally take? I've read people who got text/email notification soon after the interview and I am just worried that I haven't received any. Am I just worrying too much?

Our IO asked pretty standard questions. When we met, how we met, what is my SSN, what is my husband's job, proof of bona fide marriage, we submitted our documents and she made copies of our wedding photos. She also asked standard yes/no questions on I-485 forms. At the end, she made us sign document explaining the process of removing conditional permanent resident at the end of 2 years. She also remove my I-94 from my passport and took away my EADs.

I am now just waiting for decision. No updates online so far so, I am little bit anxious and nervous. Hoping I get approval letter/notification.

Good luck with your interview tomorrow. I am sure you will do great.

usually it may take between 3 to 7days if there is no issue of eligibility.

regarding marrying another nationality in usa

                hi friends
i just came to know about like if an indian marry a us citizen or if someone marry out of their nationality, they have to go back to your country.
I was about to marry an american citizen and i m indian.
We are really in trouble now.
                can anyone answer my question.
I have overstayed my visa and entered legally.

you would not be in trouble because of your nationality. thousands of people have spouses from other nationalities. there must be something else!

                    hi there hope
                    thanx a lot
                    you gave me a hope.
Actually someone just told me that we have to go back to our country if we marry some other nationality especially it is between american and indian.
I too didn't find and such rule.
But if you got something else do let me know.
this will be of great help.

                      @ questiongirl,

Good luck! Don't worry because the hard part had been accomplished. One advise, you may call them and ask or schedule a free info pass to make sure! Let us know when you got the card, please.
                      Thanks.

                          Still Waiting

                          Hi everyone,

I still have not received anything from the USCIS and my interview was on April 19, 2011. Should I call or set up an info-pass appointment? It seems like a lot of people have received their cards pretty soon after the interview. There has been no updates online since March.

How long does it take to send approval notice letter or actual card?

                          Anxiously waiting

I will definitely call and check since it has passed 30 days after the interview! Nothing wrong with contacting USCIS; this is your full right! You have a case there! I had done it many times for myself and others too! Good luck again!

Have you had any luck hearing from them yet? If not you should try and schedule an infopass that seems to be the best way to get something from them.
