  • I-485 Approved but I-824 for CP is pending since Jan 2010

I filed I-485 in Aug 2007 and left US in May 2009 to work for same employer in India. Filed I-824 in Feb 2010 to start Consular Processing. Changed employer in India in May 2010 but the old employer is willing to offer job after GC is approved.
Yesterday, I got an 'Card Production' email from USCIS for myself and my dependents.

In this scenario, Pls suggest if my approved Green Card in invalid and will be cancelled or now that GC is approved, I824 can somehow get aligned to it?
Pls suggest the best course of action for my case.

You got yourself and your family green cards; what would USCIS cancel it? I don't see the point! Congratulations and accept my welcome as (you all) New US Permanent Residents! Get back to work!

Thanks FreeConrtibutor for the reply. Their a twist in the tale now. My sponsoring employer is not comfortable giving me a job offer now.

In this scenario, Can the Immigration officer stop me for not possesing an Offer letter from my sponsoring employer since I am not working with them for last 1 year? Should i even have an offer letter to show at the point of entry now that I have the Green card or Should I have an offer letter from any US employer when I land in US?

Any reponse will go a long way in soothing some frayed nerves at the moment.

At this point, get a lawyer advice because I don't want you to take the risk; immigration officers are very careful now and I don't blame them! Good luck again, and be positive. Don't give up, and if you see that taking the risk will cost less than getting a lawyer: do the math!

I spoke to an attorney in US for 20 minutes. His sense is to tell the truth when asked and in a measured way. More importantly, by him, the Green cards are valid since USCIS had all the info when they processed my card. Nearly the same advice was given by the attorney who processed my case.

On the hindisight, if one tries to anticipate the attorney advice, aren't they supposed to throw the rule book at you?

In this backdrop, Should i talk to 1 more attorney or you think i have got enough attorney advice for now

This is up to you! Taking the risk is all what life is about! May God protect you. That also true, you got the green card already; I don't see the point for it to be revoked! good luck again! Hope that will help you!
