Hi everyone,
Here's my situation and I'd really appreciate your advice.
I applied for NIW through a lawyer. According to USCIS timeline, I should have received I-140 decision by now, but still no answer. Called USCIS, they gave a number and asked to call back in 30 days. Lawyer says I'm still within the correct time frame .
Meanwhile, I submitted I-485, EAD and advance parole . Completed finger printing.
1) Does USCIS wait until fingerprinting submission to issue EAD?
2) I'm on H1B , valid until Aug 2012. If I change the job now, can I use the remaining of H1B for a new job? If so, does it have to be done by the new employer?
3) what would happen if I lost my current job after receiving EAD and cannot find a new job soon?
My current lab will not have funds for the next year and I'm looking for jobs now. and I'm very worried.
Thank you.
