  • GC Approved before Filing 485 for wife, please advice!

    Hello Everyone,
My GC and Approval notice was mailed to me last friday(05/13). My PD is June 2006, which became current this month(May 1st). So we filed my Wife's application for EAD, AP and all other GC applications. We havent yet received her receipt notice from USCIS. Currently she is working on H1 visa in the US since 2 years.
The lawyer says "Your wife's 485 will be processed as a FOLLOWING TO JOIN benefit".
I understand that "Following to Join" means that my wife's application will be processed with my priority date and she doesnt have to wait like I did. But what is the timeline for USCIS to process the Following to Join applicaitons for GC? Also, Is there anything else I will have to do ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Get Info pass appointment at your local USCIS Office; it is free, and they will answer all your questions! Sometimes, due to the high volume of applications, things get mix up! I am not a lawyer, but I help voluntarily people with immigration matters. From this experience, I have seen many cases which got confused, lost or forgetting from USCIS. Although you have a lawyer, you can call yourself and schedule an info pass about your case. Make sure you have your receipt number, alien numbers ( if any) ready before calling. Good luck, and don't worry much. It is going to be fine!
