Men and my spouse just got married, so we are thinking about waiting till next year january to file the AOS beacuse we want to file joint tax first before applying ,,.
Please i will like to know if joint tax is compulsory or not .A friend told me it does, hasd anyone one got aproval without filling joint tax?

If you are legally married, you should file joint taxes. I doubt the IO will have a problem if did not file joint taxes since you were not married.

I filed my paperwork for my husband w/o joint tax returns. We just got married in March, therefore we couldn't file MFJ. I simply submitted my tax returns alone. Don't think its a big deal to wait for that, I would just send it in. Do you have other documents to use for the interview?
