1.How long does one have to remain in the country after the 1-485 is filed and Biometrics is done.

2.If the applicant has been out of status before,can they leave or do they have to wait till they have an actual Green card in hand?

3.Has anyone tried consular processing?

You cannot leave the country til you have either AP card in hand or GC . If you leave before GC and not here for interview they will assume you have abandoned your GC petition and you will not be able to re enter the US. We are all out of status while we wait for our GC.
