  • No NOA since Packet received by Chicago

    Hi! All,

I am worried now, per UPS tracking, my packet (I-130, I-765 and I-485) was left in reception area of Chicago Lockbox last July 27, it's been a week now, I have not received NOA thru mail nor thru my e-mail. Is this normal? Do I need to use Infopass.

    Thanks

    Are you serious?

Are you serious ? It is only a matter of days or less than a week. USCIS is not a machine wait for 3-4weeks to get a reply or response.

Hi Harlene, i filed the same packet I-130, I-485, I-765, which i sent on 7/21/11. I didn't recieve any correspondence whatsoever from USCIS until today 8/4/11 which was the I-797c biometrics appointment notice which they sent on 8/1/11. I did notice though, that they cashed my checks on 7/27.

Using the application number on the I-797c i looked up my case online and was able to determine that they recieved my packet 7/25/11.

So it may be that things are a little hectic over on their side, You should be recieving something soon. Hope this helps.

          My Visa Journey (I-485)

I'd like to share to you my experiences on my Adjustment of Status.

7/25/2011 Sent packet through UPS (2 days shipment)
          7/27/2011 Received by Chicago Lockbox
          8/12/2011 Received e-mail notification
8/16/2011 Received acknowledgment notice/NOA for Biometrics
          9/6/2011 Biometrics
          9/17/2011 Received notice for Interview
          9/21/2011 EAD card processing
          9/29/2011 Received EAD Card
          10/17/2011 Interview
10/24/2011 Received Green Card (Praise God!)

          Interview 10/17/2011 12:45PM

Arrived there at 12:05PM, stayed in the parking lot til 12:20.
We did not hire a lawyer. I noticed also that some couples did not have any lawyer with them.

The immigration officer came from the same country where I came from (he was not an American but an Asian like me) , he's so serious, never gave us a smile.

Made us swore, then asked for the following documents:
          1. My passport
          2. original copies of our birth certificate
          3. Orig. copy of marriage license
          4. Original copy of divorce decree

He took my I-94, then compare my documents to my application forms.
Asked some basic questions as to:
          1. How we met, when and where was the first time we saw each other in person,
          2. How did we maintain our communication. When I said through e-mail and through phone calls, he asked the proof, so I showed him some e-mails and some phone bills, then he got some of the bills and put on my file.

He asked also for some wedding pictures (ceremony, reception, and with the guests), asked me the name of our American guests, then put on file.

Only few questions were being asked from my husband, about his work, if he has kid with prevoius marriage

Then he printed the removal of condition and explained to us what to do if in case we are approved, we are being told that for him the case is approved but need to consult first his supervisor if it is approved also for him.

I'd like to thank this forum for giving me knowldege and hope during the process.

          More power!
