I 485 approval in risk - Need advise on travel

I worked for Company X that got into trouble with Iowa immigration laws in 2007. I invoked AC 21 at that time and transferred to Company B. My priority date is current now and processing center is Iowa. Is there a chance that my GC will be denied?
My wife is currently in India. Can she return to the US during the appealing time in case GC is denied and I appeal for reconsideration?
