  • Birth Certificate one letter missing (different name)

my birth certificate and my real last name including my parents and grandparents is **** *t*.

While the Indian officials made my passport, they misspelled my last name as **** *tt* (double tt). Since then all my document in US has double tt

Now, since their is discrepancy between BC and passport I want to know if it be a problem for EAD an GC filling. I am filling under marriage with citizen.

Yes, you will probably have problems. You should have corrected your passport back then.

Looking at it another way. I'm going to show you my passport - my name on it is Rajiv Pattel. My US visa reads "Rajiv Pattel". My driver's license reads "Rajiv Pattel". My credit cards read "Rajiv Pattel". My social security card reads "Rajiv Pattel".

Now let me show you one single document which is spelled differently - my birth certificate - which reads "Rajiv Patel".

Considering all the documents I showed you first, and this one I'm showing you now - which one do you think is **** ?

Even if we know that this kind of issues happen in India - it is a bit surprising you haven't done anything to fix this issue before, but "went along with it".

Even if you were to get the Hague Apostille for the document - that only means the document is indeed a valid birth certificate for Rajiv Patel. But, my friend, you have a bunch of evidence to the fact you're NOT that person.
