I am married to a us citizen and about to submit my i-130 for me and my 2 sons. I know that i have to send in and pay seperately for my 2 sons on a i-130 application form, but can anybody tell me if I also need seperate i-485 for my sons individuallyas well, or is it sufficient to name them on my i-485?

Same way you did the I-130, you have to do the I-485! Or you can file concurently: I-130 ( $420) + I-485 ($1070) + I-765 ( Employment authorization for FREE) for each( you and the 2 sons). But only if you do the package, you don't have to pay for EAD! Good luck!
Make sure you check the applications fees before sending any forms as USCIS changes all the time!

Note: You still have to put their names on your I-485 application and the same thing they have to put your name on their applications!
