  • AOS Interview Rescheduled in Aug, no words. HELP

    Hi fellow members.
I rescheduled an AOS interview last month on July 28, 2011. My wife (USC) can't make it at that time. The Interview Officer made a copy of my letter of reasons; she also took my original interview letter, and told me to wait for USCIS letter to notify me for a second interview during the end of August.

It is 8/14/2011 now, and I should have got some kind of letter by now. so 3 days ago,
I called the USCIS 1-800 number and the staff was very unhelpful. They pretty much told me to wait and they DO NOT KNOW what is going on w/ the case what's O ever. I was very upset after I talk to them. I'm starting to worried if the officer forgot to reschedule my case or not.

The Interview place I went to was in Downtown, Los Angeles. I tried looking up their number online w/ no luck. The USCIS website doesnt provide their phone number, so there is no way I can reach them.

Please, if you had a similar situation, would you kindly shine some light on your experience.
Or any advice or input is welcome.
I think I might have to make a trip to see the officer by the end of August to see what's going on.

I was supposed to have an interview on May 17, 2011, but due to my high risk pregnancy I couldn't make it at that time, so rescheduled it on April 18, got a letter that they will send me new AOS date within 60 days...and up to today I haven't got one yet. I know that in Atlanta they have some delays now, but still. Try not to worry to much, I'm sure we both will get our AOS dates eventually.

      Rescheduled Interview

I had my initial interview (Atlanta) in Jan and had to reschedule because I was out of the country. It took almost 8 months for my interview to be rescheduled. I finally got the notice that it'll be at the end of this month. I wouldn't worry too much as long as you have your paperwork in and followed the correct procedure for re-scheduling. You can also make an Infopass appointment.

What's the correct procedure for re-scheduling?

          Rescheduled Interview

You will have to wait for another 6-8 months before you can be re-scheduled for another interview, because your application will have to go the back of the line and make it's way upward.
Secondarily because you did not reschedule your interview before the day of the defunct( the first one)interview, but you appeared without your wife for whatever reason be ready for Stokes interview( know your wife like you know the back of your hand and vice versa).

          Goodluck.

          Oni.

I had a similar problem, my wife couldnt make it to the interview and i showed up by myself.....i explained to the guy who was suppose to interview us, he asked me what date we could make it, i told him in 30days and he gave me a date. I asked him if i could get the letter, he went out and had the receptionist type one up.

we went for the interview and 7mins we where done and approved

            my advise:

do not panic. you will be fine. if you can go to your local office and see if the can help you with an appointment letter. Or just wait for the letter, it would come

Dont scare the guy. If their application is tight and good, they have nothing to worry about.
