  • F-1 to H-1b? Help required

Im an F-1 student studying for a masters degree. Hypothetically, in the event that a company could offer me full time employment immediately...what would be the procedure?

Would I be better off trying to file for OPT on my student visa or should the company try and sponsor me for the H1b employment visa?

Any information about the length of the process and the cost involved appreciated. Cheers

Just advice from my side - try to get OPT first. Companies in most cases are not willing to offer jobs if you don't have work authorization. If company wants hire you and you have OPT authorization this will allow them to file H1-B and wait until it received. H1-B process takes some time and not all companies willing to wait. Your university can give you information on how long it will take to get OPT papers.
