  • I-485 concern

    Hello everyone.
I have filed I-130 and I-485 Application to Adjust to Permanent Residence for my mother. She curently resides in the USA on a visitor visa. I also included Affidavit of Support as part of the I-485 (me as a sponsor and my husband as a co-sponsor, both are the US citizens). My mother did her biometrics and we are waiting for her to be called for the appointment with the canselor.

My mother had to visit Emergency recently, for which I've got the Bill to pay. My mother does not have any insurance, and I can't pay out of pocket. We have an option to apply for Charity Care which may cover the Bill for us.

My question: If we apply for Charity Care, will it affect her I-485 in any way?, in other words, will it in any way interfere with getting her green card? Any suggestion is welcome.
Thank you so much in advance. Love this forum, it helped me number of times.
Good Luck to All of you.

When you sponsor her, you file I-864 form where you take full responsibility of the beneficiary till the beneficiary becomes a USC......... Now you do the math.

I just found some information in the internet, saying that Emergency and Charity Care is not considered "Public Charge", but I'm not sure if it's right though...
Thank you for reply, any other suggestions are welcome.
