Hi
Can AOS be applied for a sibling who is on H1 ? How long should he be in H1 before AOS being applied for ? Is that a good idea or since he just came 6months back, is it better to wait?
What are the advantages and disadvantaes of applying for AOS ? He isnt married yet.

And you are . . . what? A US citizen? A permanent resident ?

If you're a permanent resident - you can't sponsor a sibling for residency.

If you're a citizen - you can sponsor your brother or sister - but look at the latest visa bulletin. They're now processing applications for those with a priority date of Aug 15, 2000 for some countries - and for others, 1988 and 1996.

So depending on where your brother/sister has been born, he may be looking to 10 to 15 years waiting time. It will be faster for him to apply for EB residency.
