  • Court or traditional or both wedding valid for GC applicaton?

I came to the US in Jan 2009 on F1 Study visa and at present Im on OPT (Optional Practical Training) ending July 2012. I and my gf (USC) met in Aug 2009 and we are planning o get married by court in Feb 2012. Later we are planning to get married by Christian way in Aug 2012 in the US and Hindu way in Dec 2012 in India.
I will be out of status after July 2012. So as to be able to work and stay legally we are planning to do a court marriage to file my GC application. Is it a good idea to file my GC application (I485, I130 and I765 concurrent filling) solely based on court wedding? Or shall we wait till we get married traditionally in Aug and then file GC?

    Please help!!

Court Marriage is perfect for filing.

Once you get married in the court, You can file I-485, I-130, I-765 (they do not care much on where or who initiated the wedding ceremony) before your visa expires in July 2012.

As long as you filled the petition before your visa will expire, you won't be out of status

I am not a lawyer, this answer is just based on experience.
